Rockin' Kats

Overview

I first played this game back in 2001 on a real NES. It's an alright platformer in a system full of them, with the gimmick being a cat in 1930s-era New York (the Japanese title, N.Y. Nyankies, is a pun that doesn't quite translate over to English with "Yankees" being the foreigner term for Americans and "nyan" being the Japanese onomatopoeia for the sound cats make), with your main weapon being a boxing glove that can extend to hit enemies or grab onto platforms; unfortunately the controls are kind of finicky and doesn't work nearly as well as should, and some of the levels where you have to jump up, point the glove down to get some extra air, and then use it again to grab the platform above are miserable experiences. The stuff on GameFAQs is quite extensive.

I have a soft spot for it for the nostalgia value but it's not for everyone.
