I initially had not planned on a page on First Colony Mall (Wikipedia page here) since I didn't have much of a story to tell about it. It opened in 1996 with Foley's (later Macy's, of course), Dillard's, JCPenney, and Mervyn's California (the only Mervyn's in Houston to be branded as such). Mervyn's closed in 2006 and was reopened as a second Dillard's, a new outdoor "lifestyle" addition was built, and a Dick's Sporting Goods was since built near the food court. I personally find its nearest rival West Oaks Mall to be more interesting.
But First Colony Mall has an advantage for its inclusion on this site, I have a printed mall directory I saved from my visit in January 2009. Note that it's quite a bit outdated itself, from June 2008...but it was still mostly accurate. First Colony Mall is the only mall I've ever been in that has carpeting in the main corridor. I did eat in the food court but I can't remember what I ate. I think I might have settled on Chick-fil-A.
The mall directory shows an AMC movie theater, which isn't part of the main mall and is actually about a quarter mile from the (former) food court exit. It's mentioned on this page.
