Centerpoint Shopping Center was built around 1987, featuring a small collection of smaller stores and featuring Toys "R" Us. California-based Mervyn's opened here in 1987 but closed in January 2006 with most of the Texas stores. Later that year, Burlington Coat Factory opened in the former space. While it retained the Burlington Coat Factory name (as of fall 2018, it was still branded as Burlington Coat Factory with the "heart" logo as seen above, though it did upgrade to just "Burlington" before closing), it was not for long. As Burlington is trying to downsize its stores, in spring 2024 it moved to the former Bed Bath & Beyond at 4633 S. Jack Kultgen Expy. #102, a much smaller space at around 25,000 square feet than the 75,000 square feet of Mervyn's. You can see an older PDF of Centerpoint with both Toys R Us and Burlington here. Chuck E. Cheese's has also been here since at least the late 2000s, though Souper Salad no longer exists (here from about 1995 to 2019).
