No picture for this one, as it is a spin-off of this page (North Interstate 35). While not Interstate 35 addresses and thus ineligible for the North Interstate 35 list, this development was first built at 15424 FM 1825 as Cinemark Movies 12, opening in December 1988, with entrances from FM 1825 and the Interstate 35 frontage road. Less than a decade later, a new movie theater practically right next to it, Tinseltown USA at 15436 FM 1825 opened, facing west, and similar to other theaters in Houston that opened around the same time. In 2017 it assumed its current name (Cinemark 20 & XD).
Meanwhile, the old theater reopened as Ashley Furniture HomeStore in 2002 (now just Ashley), with other stores developed near it around 2006. As of 2021 these include from west to east, Generations Barber Shop (100), Dean Mitchell Insurance Agency (105), High Society Relief, 15424 (110—CBD shop), Glam Beauty Bar (115), Fast Signs (117), and Signature Smiles (120). On the other side of the building is Enso Nails (210), Curry Kitchen (230—this was Austin's Pizza back in 2019), Wild Magnolias (240), vacant (250—as of this writing, Cuban Groceries Co.), izza in Austin, TX Since 1999">Austin's Pizza back in 2019), and suite 280, once home to Kung Fu Buffet (closed 2019). The space was most recently home to Down South CaJJun Eats, though I'm not sure if it is permanently closed or not.
