This page, developed in part to replace one of the entries on what is now the Bay Area Boulevard page, isn't to focus on AMC Gulf Pointe 30 so much as to focus on the restaurants in front. Mostly, I feel that the theater is better covered on CinemaTreasures or Houston Historic Retail (granted, the same person contributed to both pages), though I will mention that like the late AMC Studio 30 on Dunvale near Westheimer Road, it also offered valet parking with a free car wash.

As people like to eat before and after movies (date nights and family dinners), the development featured restaurant pads in front for full-service dining. Of the five pads planned, only four were developed, and only one of them still survives today—the other three were demolished. Today we'll be looking at all four.

11900 Dickinson Road: Marked as "A" on the map, Texas Land & Cattle operated from 1999 to January 2017. It has since been demolished. Texas Land & Cattle, as a chain, has been discussed on this website before, and is down to a single restaurant in Austin.

11940 Dickinson Road: Bennigan's was here from 2000 to 2008. In 2009 it briefly became a second location of The Wing Factory before closing in 2011. The building was demolished in 2016 and unlike Texas Land & Cattle, the parking lot has been removed. It is marked as "B" on the map.

12118 Dickinson Road: Asahi Sushi & Steakhouse was here from 2005 to 2008, then La Cantina Mexican Grill was here from 2008 to 2010. (This was rebranded to Calientes Grill & Cantina before its permanent closure). This too was demolished in 2016 with the building and parking removed. This marked as "C" on the map.

12130 Dickinson Road: Marked as "D" on the map, Outback Steakhouse opened in early 1998 but closed in 2018. The Famous Crab opened to replace it in 2020.
