This office building, constructed in 2009, has a strip mall portion despite the latter being almost invisible from the highway. It holds breakfast chain First Watch, which replaced The Egg & I, a previous similar tenant.
10357 W. Sam Houston Parkway N.
Built around 2013, this building houses Purvis Industries' divisions Capcorp and National Petroleum in one building (though they don't seem to be the headquarters of either).
EōS Fitness / 9244 W. Sam Houston Parkway North
This opened in 2026. From 2009 to 2024 it was LA Fitness.
Whataburger / 9232 W. Sam Houston Parkway N.
This Whataburger opened around December 2009.
Kroger / 9125 W. Sam Houston Parkway N.
Albertsons #2766 opened in September 1999 and in May 2002 was shut down and converted to a Kroger (#739). It also included a fuel center out front (known as Albertsons Express under Albertsons, then Kwik Shop under Kroger until the Kwik Shop chain was divested). Walgreens / 8942 West Sam Houston Parkway North
Walgreens #06401 opened in 2001 at the southeast corner of West Road and Beltway 8.
McDonald's / 8940 W. Sam Houston Pkwy. N.
This McDonald's opened in 2001. In fall 2017, the exterior was renovated to the current prototype.
Taco Cabana / 8930 W. Sam Houston Parkway North
This Taco Cabana opened around August 2008.
7-Eleven / 5606 W. Sam Houston Pkwy. N.
This self-branded 7-Eleven opened in 2023 and features a Laredo Taco Company inside.
The Chair King Inc. / 5405 West Sam Houston Parkway North
Chair King's corporate headquarters and distribution center has been here since at least 2008.
Rainbow Swing Set Superstores / 5330 W. Sam Houston Pkwy N.
Rainbow Play Systems with their iconic wood and red/blue/yellow fabric awnings, has independent dealers scattered around the country, and this one was built in the early 2010s. We've mentioned Rainbow Play Systems before on this site, with the mention of HOMEFIELD College Station at the Highway 6 South page, and more to come.
Tree Frogs Wooden Swing Set Factory / 4465 West Sam Houston Pkwy. N.
Tree Frogs Wooden Swing Set Factory. Very similar to the Rainbow Play sales lot nearby. Has been here since at least 2014, in 2011 was named "Kid Structures Inc.", and in 2008 was an actual Rainbow Play lot.
Starbucks / 4395 W. Sam Houston Pkwy. North
This used to be the site of a Sonic, around 2022 it closed and was redeveloped as a Starbucks. It opened in 2023. It appears to be a new build and not a renovation of the existing building.
The Reserve @ City Center North / 2401 West Sam Houston Parkway North
This apartment complex was built in 1979 as West Way Village Apartments (2401 West Belt North) with one of its advertised features being three tennis courts (by 2001 one of these had turned into a basketball court before all three were torn out around 2011-2012.)
The name was kept (as Westway Village) until around 2008-2011, and an article from the late 1970s mentions 326 units.
2323 West Sam Houston Parkway North
The apartment complex described above was part of a larger development with six office buildings, most of which were never built (it appears that the building shown had a twin located toward the back of the property, but that was demolished by the late 1980s. In any case, today this building houses Wells Group in Building A (the original) and "RISE at the Warehouse" in buildings B & C (built later and not part of the original development).
Jack in the Box / 2277 West Sam Houston Parkway North
This Jack in the Box opened in 2001. The back part of the driveway connected it to Hammerly Boulevard and was the main access point of Flamingo Gardens, a business off Hammerly described below.
Chick-fil-A / 2267 West Sam Houston Parkway North
This Chick-fil-A restaurant opened around July 2018 and largely replaced the Flamingo Gardens plant center, located at 10711 Hammerly Boulevard. Flamingo Gardens moved here in early 2000 from its old location at 9600 Katy Freeway (9600 Old Katy Road) and was between 2121 W. Sam Houston Parkway N. and Hammerly Boulevard (except for a small portion where Jack in the Box was). By early 2015, they scaled back their operation to the "back" part of the property and it appears that they closed after the 2016 season.
The former Flamingo Gardens was completely replatted. The front part of the property became a Chick-fil-A, but required shaving off part of the parking lot from 2121 W. Sam Houston Pkwy. N. (Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America, now known as Mitsubishi Logisnext Americas Incorporated). In exchange, Mitsubishi built a new section of parking lot in the back part of the property, while leaving part of the property undeveloped for drainage reasons. Flamingo Gardens still operates a location in Galveston.
Palace Inn Blue / 1307 West Sam Houston Pkwy. N.
This replaced a small shop (Man's Best Friend) at 10727 Clarborough Place, a dog grooming, training, and boarding center, which was evicted and demolished in January 2014. Within a few months, construction was underway for Palace Inn Blue (Palace Inn Blue CityCentre), the more "upscale" version of the notorious local motel chain (opening in 2015).
Niko Niko's / 1040 West Sam Houston Parkway
Chili's opened in 1992 and hung for a number of years afterward after the demise of Bennigan's, but closed in 2014. Houston-based Niko Niko's opened in 2016 and while the website has a dedicated page and paragraph for the "history" of that location, it doesn't even tell when it was opened.
1030 W. Sam Houston Pkwy. North
Bennigan's (#5451) opened in 1985. It closed in 2004 and was torn down in 2005 for the Katy Freeway expansion (the rest of the Houston Bennigan's went shortly afterward). Originally addressed as 1030 West Belt Drive North. There's pictures of the doomed Bennigan's at HoustonFreeways.com.
790 West Sam Houston Parkway North
When Town & Country Village was redeveloped in 1995, one of the new sites at 790 West Sam Houston Parkway North was Grady's American Grill, a restaurant owned by Brinker that boasted a large menu of homemade food (a menu exists from 1994, giving one an idea of the types of food served there). In 1997 this closed and was replaced with a TGI Friday's, which itself closed in 2005. By 2008 new buildings were being built with a parking garage, and by 2011 had two of three spaces filled, Post Oak Bank and an AT&T store. The bank was acquired by Allegiance Bank in 2018 and rebranded in 2019, with it rebranded as Stellar Bank after another merger. The last space was filled with Hugo Caliente in 2014, which renamed to just Caliente in 2015 following a settlement.
2900 West Sam Houston Parkway S.
This was built in a Motel 6 in the late 1990s with interior corridors. Around 2019-2020 it was a Oyo Hotel, later Memorial Inn; however by April 2022 the Motel 6 name had been regained. This was short-lived as it was destroyed in a major fire in January 2023 and later demolished.
Studio 6 / 2950 W. Sam Houston Parkway South
A few years after 3030 W. Sam Houston Parkway South was sold, the Baymont by Wyndham here was converted into Studio 6 (Studio 6 Houston TX - Westchase) around December 2025. In the late 2000s and early 2010s this hotel was Best Western Plus Westchase Mini-Suites.
The Fusion at Rye 3030 / 3030 W. Sam Houston Pkwy. S.
Like its twin off Northwest Freeway, this started out as Homestead Village in 1994, a chain of extended-stay efficiency apartment hotels and in 2001 it was sold to Accor, the parent company of Motel 6, which converted them to Studio 6. While Studio 6 as a chain is very much alive, both of the former Homestead Village locations were sold in the early 2020s to become studio apartments. As an apartment complex with studio apartments, The Fusion at Rye 3030 opened in 2022.
3600 W. Sam Houston Parkway S.
This office building was built in 2015 and is the home of LJA Engineering, Inc., among others. It
reuses the address of the large movie theater that sat between Richmond and Westpark, the late Cinemark Tinseltown Westchase, which operated from 1996 to 2008. The only thing on the entire block besides the movie theater was a Red Robin (now Twin Crab)—see the Richmond Avenue page.
3700 West Sam Houston Pkwy. S.
This office building was built before the "new" 3600 but looks just like it, opened in 2011. Together, these make up the Westchase Park redevelopment. Between this, the Frost Bank at the southwest corner of Beltway 8 and Richmond (has a Beltway 8 address but not covered in Version 1.0 of this page), the modern 3600, parking garages, and a TownePlace Suites with a Westpark Drive address, the former movie theater has been redeveloped.
The Home Depot / 6800 W. Sam Houston Parkway South
The Home Depot opened around April 1996 at the southwest corner of Beltway 8 and Bellaire Boulevard.
Chick-fil-A / 6840 West Sam Houston Parkway South
This Chick-fil-A was built in January 2016.
Viet Hoa International Foods / 8300 W. Sam Houston Pkwy. S
This opened as a Venture in July 1995 and closed a little over two years later when it was sold and reopened as a Big Kmart (#3913) which itself closed in June 2002. When it was transformed into its current form (Viet Hoa International Foods) in late 2003 and early 2004, a number of strip mall stores were built directly in front of the building as part of the redevelopment into the new tenant. Viet Hoa is technically suite 100 but occupies the entirety of the former Venture/Kmart. Remarkably, most of Venture's interior is still intact.
8800 West Sam Houston Parkway South
This opened as the first Auchan in the United States in October 1988. It closed in early 2003 and the building has been transformed into smaller stores, most notably a Food Town in suite 140 that operated from late 2003 to 2024, when it closed.

For many years after the demise of Auchan, the building was called "Parkway Center". In the early 2020s the lettering was changed to "Park 8 Center" before being removed entirely by 2024. (As of this writing, I realize there's something I can add to my Auchan page that HHR doesn't have, but it's going to have to wait).
Walmart / 9460 West Sam Houston Parkway South
Walmart Supercenter #3302 opened in November 2005, a few years after the demise of Auchan.
Gillman Automotive Group / 10595 W. Sam Houston Parkway South
The last address before Southwest Freeway (and by extension, South Sam Houston Parkway West). The sprawling site was built in the early 2000s all at once (later absorbing a lot off of Forum Place that had an office tower) and features, as of this writing (July 2026) from north to south, Gillman Subaru Southwest, Gillman Jeep, Gillman Chrysler Dodge Ram, and Gillman Honda.
